Cut-Leaved Toothwort Flowering

Description: This is a fairly easy one to find early in the spring, it is in the first set of plants to come up in the woods.  As I was out and about this spring I ran across toothwort all over the place.

Preparation: I would loosen the dirt around the plant with a spade and then pull it up.  It has horizontal nodes that you can clean and grate up, then use it as a replacement to horseradish.  I love horseradish, and I had a hard time being able to tell the difference between horseradish and toothwort.  I intend to make a much larger batch next year.
