Kayaking across ice

So I have been itching to get out on my kayak this year, I bought a wetsuit that came in last week and I have been looking for a good opportunity to get out there.  Last night on my way home I decided to give it a run.  The new wetsuit works great!  I was able to kayak down to Anchor Island (http://www.kd8itx.com/blog/2010/08/kayaking-exploring-geocaching-nice-way-to-start-the-day/), and then I headed down to lake Erie.  The lake is not really frozen, but there is a lot of ice out there that is pushing into the river, this picture shows me in the Chagrin River and you can see the outlet into Lake Erie.  The ice was fun because you would just paddle really slow and the ice would kind of move around you, I didn’t go that far into it because I didn’t have a lot of time before dark, but I am glad I got out before all the ice was gone.

  3. Marcus, I can see you being a part of the “Lewis & Clark” expedition. I think you would have been right in your element.
I agree with Debi, so, be careful & enjoy!!
